My Tips to Getting the most out of OneSource
I bought OneSource over a year ago and in that time I've learnt a few things about finding and sourcing products using it.
The below are my five top tips to using OneSource effectively and productively.
Most suppliers don't sell directly to the public, so you will need to create an account to see the real wholesale prices. The downside of this is that they will then email you new products and specials and this can get overwhelming. Create a throw away email address to sign up, and then if you are happy with the prices you can change that account to your real email address.
For some reason OneSource doesn't let you browse suppliers as you would a directory, you have to search for the keywords/products you are looking for and then it will give you the list of suppliers. To get around this, in the search box simply enter "a" and it will give you all the suppliers starting with "a". You can also narrow your search by category, e.g. by selecting the category "sports" and then using 1 letter as a keyword.
Take advantage of the extra tools inbuilt into the OneSource system. For any given product OneSource will give you data on how competitive the market is for that product and also provide you with keyword lists which can be useful in designing your ebay listings or online store.
I take the competition tools with a grain of salt, frankly there's no way OneSource can give you all the compeititive research information you need to decide if you can sell that product profitably. For this you will still need to do your own research. The keyword tool on the other hand is really useful, and can help you choose auction titles and help you to select which words to use in your product descriptions.
This tip really builds on my last point about competition. You will need to do extensive research on any product before you decide to sell it. Check if it's selling on eBay, Amazon or anywhere else online and if so what is it selling for. OneSource makes it easy to find the products, but you still need to find a profitable market. Luckily, with OneSource you have over 9,000 suppliers to pick from and hundreds of thousands of products. Market research takes a bit of time, but hey, at least you won't be wasting any more time looking for suppliers.
My final tip is the most important. Buy OneSource immediately, before your competition does. OneSource gives you the ultimate edge over your competitors in that you can choose from thousands of suppliers at your fingertips. Don't pass up this opportunity, get OneSource today.
